THE JORDAN YEARS
Growing out of their retro-soul beginnings, Chicago band The Jordan Years emerge with their first full-length. Their ten song album, Homemade Hustler follows the story of a recent corporate castaway who decides to make ends meet on his own terms. He finds love, money, uncertainty, stress, and eventually trouble, but in the end he knows he wouldn’t have it any other way. The album is a focused statement from one of the city’s most exciting bands. Blending rock songwriting, soulful vocals, and detailed production, Homemade Hustler is the sound of The Jordan Years’ coming of age.

The trio, Wes Restless (vocals), Michael Andersen (bass), and Roger Panella (guitar), enlisted an all-star cast of local musicians to fill out their bold arrangements with live drums, keys, horns, and strings. Staying true to the DIY ethic of the album’s theme, the Jordan Years self-recorded and produced Homemade Hustler in their underground Humboldt Park headquarters: West Town Recording (aka Mike’s basement). Without the clock running, the band had the freedom to experiment and make the record they wanted to make.

THE CONGREGATION
The Congregation has been steadily gaining steam since the release of its seven-song EP,”Not for Sleepin’”, in late 2010. The band was named by the Chicago Tribune as one of “11 Bands to Watch in 2011”, and was recently featured in Paste Magazine as one of “10 Illinois Bands You Should Listen to Now”. The Congregation’s stop-and-take-notice sound earned the group the opportunity to share a triple stadium-bill with Grammy-winning band Wilco and critically acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Andrew Bird as well as another all-star ballpark lineup with the Flaming Lips and Garbage in the summer of 2012.

THE SKINNY
Formed in 2005, The Skinny became a band in the wake of bassist Jake Vinsel’s inspired association with the legendary James Brown funky drummer Clyde Stubblefield. Guitarist Kyle Asche, brought influence and repertoire from Grant Green, George Benson and Melvin Sparks to the band. Mike Schlick came with an unmistakable “old school” backbeat as well as a deep understanding of the music of The Meters and Booker T & The MG’s. Organist Ben Paterson has been at the side of the legendary Chicago tenor saxophonist Von Freeman for almost a decade. In addition to his elegant and swinging piano style, Paterson is a force to be reckoned with on the B-3 organ.

DJ INTEL
DJ Intel, born Jason Deuchler, is a man that knows his way around the ones and twos. The kid honing his craft on hand-me-down tables now shares the stage with Hip Hop legends (Lupe Fiasco, Afrika Bambaataa, Wu-Tang Clan, ?Love), EDM greats (Amon Tobin, Kid Koala, Nero, The Prodigy) and three time world DMC champion DJ Qbert, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. He holds down quite a few residencies in Chicago, including the world famous Smart Bar, and rips up stages at huge music festivals (Lollapalooza, North Coast Music Fest, SXSW).
